I just received this message in my inbox and due to the fact that the messenger did not leave a real email, I am unable to contact him/her. Therefore, I am creating a post in reply.
I did not create the terms of submission; Tumblr did.
Therefore, I am not the one who is demanding the rights to your content. If you are going to submit something to this blog, I am only ever going to post it here, that is all. I will not use it anywhere else without your permission.
The whole point of me even having a submit button on my blog is for photographers and dancers to share their work on Tumblr.
I would never take your work and use it somewhere else, claiming it as my own. That is horribly wrong.
I created this blog because of my appreciation of dance and the photography of it. I wanted to share beautiful pictures I had seen on Instagram; that is why I have this blog.
I completely understand if you are offended by the terms of submission, as they seem to suggest I would take your work and use it wrongly. But I cannot stress enough that doing so is not my intention.
So please, if you are interested in sharing work you have created, please do so. And know that I would never want to use it anywhere else! I would only post it on this blog with your permission and that is all. Upon request I would also remove it from my blog after submission.
What I’m trying to say is: this blog is not for stealing someone’s work. It is simply for sharing the love of dance photography. So even though the terms state you are giving me the right to use, reproduce, and modify your work, I do not wish to do so.
If you have any more questions/comments/concerns on this matter, please message me and I will be happy to discuss this. Thank you.
